Google removed their official blog by mistake

How to lose a blog

Things happen - even to big companies. The successful US Web company Google has their official information channel "The Official Google Blog" on the same blogger.com site as this Nikitalk blog. The address is http://googleblog.blogspot.com/
(- Blogspot is just another name for blogger.com.)

Last night some member of the Google staff by accident removed that blog and thus set the blog name free, so that anyone could grab the blog name to himself. A student in Texas did that - in his own words no to get rich, but just to protect the blog name for Google.

Read all about it in the linked article.

Blogs and blogosphere

What is a blog? Dictionary.com tells us:
blog

an online diary; a personal chronological log of thoughts published on a Web page; also called Weblog, Web log
But it can also be

n : a shared on-line journal where people can post diary entries about their personal experiences and hobbies [syn: web log]

Who are reading blogs? In a recent study blogosphere
50 million U.S. Internet users visited blog sites in the first quarter of 2005. That is roughly
30% of all U.S. Internet users and 1 in 6 of the total U.S. population.'

As an examlpe of personal blogs is Belinda`s blog Life in Jinan

Last monday we talked about wireless networks. In The New York Times people are worried about other people using their network, look Hey Neighbor, Stop Piggybacking on My Wireless
